Reno casino bets on geothermal heat
In Nevada, the Peppermill Resort Casino in Reno has drilled to 4,400 feet down to a hot water aquifer. The 173 degree F water will be used to heat its entire property and running water by January. The Peppermill said that the water needed to be at least 165 degrees F to be efficient enough to replace four boilers inside their heating plant, currently fired by natural gas.
