Residents unhappy with Bottle Rock expansion plans
In California, people living around the Bottle Rock Power geothermal plant are not happy with the company’s expansion plans. The meeting was held with state and local officials to get comments from the community on what environmental issues should be considered in preparing an environmental impact report, which is to be completed by the summer of 2010. However, the public concerns spilled over to issues ranging from simple opposition to the plant to increased water use, construction traffic, property values, noise, roads, lighting and earthquakes. Officials noted that overall considerations of the project’s merits would be considered in future public hearings. Click here for a previous report on the project.
