Preliminary program for IGC 2010 online

In Germany, the preliminary program for the 6th International Geothermal Conference (IGC 2010) is online. The event will take place in Freiburg, Germany on May 19-20, 2010 and an early registration discount is available until February 28. The conference begins on the 19th with the short course “Exploitation of geothermal reservoirs” in co-operation with experts from the Drilling School Celle. It ends on the 21st with field trips to geothermal power plants in Landau and Soultz-sous-forêt. In between, on the 19th workshops provide overviews of international geothermal projects, as well as discussions of the technical components of a geothermal power plant, cycle processes, and reservoir optimization. On May 20, four discussion panels will cover risk mitigation strategies, seismicity in geothermal systems, challenges for financing and geothermal power plants in service.
