CO streamlines geothermal permitting processes
In Colorado, a bill just signed into law makes it easier for state agencies to cooperate on geothermal studies and projects. The bill also streamlines the process for getting geothermal drilling permits and includes provisions protecting the rights of landowners and those with rights to the water. It also establishes a process for resolving disputes. Sen. Gail Schwartz who sponsored the bill said geothermal will diversify Colorado’s energy sources.
