Feed-in tariff gets industry supporter
In Australia, Hot Rock Ltd. has said it supports the Victorian government, which has recently proposed the introduction of a new feed-in tariff to encourage investment in new large scale solar generation plants in the state. HRL notes that within the “Victorian Climate Change White Paper – The Action Plan” was the following, “The Government will also examine the feasibility of making this feed-in tariff available to other next-generation low-emissions technologies, such as geothermal.” HRL’s Executive Chairman, Dr Mark Elliott said, “A feed-in tariff or some other revenue initiative that could provide a guaranteed electricity price for geothermal electricity projects in Victoria is welcomed and shows real leadership in supporting the potential development of this very important new clean base-load power industry.”
