India’s first GT plant to be built in Andhra Pradesh
In India, the country’s first Geothermal power plant will reportedly be built in Andhra Pradesh’s Khammam district by 2012. A power purchase agreement has been signed between GeoSyndicate Power Pvt Ltd and Northern Power Distribution Company of AP Ltd. The reports did not indicate who would build the plant, which is slated to have an initial capacity of 25 MW. Dr D Chandrasekharam is the founder and chairman of Geosyndicate.
