Chevron to expand geothermal presence in Indonesia
In Indonesia, reports say that Chevron Pacific Indonesia expects to aggressively establish more geothermal power projects in the coming years. “Chevron will always bid for any geothermal tenders offered by local governments in Indonesia,” Abdul Hamid Batubara, CPI’s president director, told the Jakarta Globe in an interview. He said the company’s goal was to boost power supply in Southeast Asia’s largest economy. He added that Indonesia has huge potential in geothermal and said “Chevron will be aggressive in developing power plants.”
