Iceland Foreign Minister visits Kashmir, India

Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs conducted a range of meetings in Kashmir and India over the past week. Discussions with authorities in Kashmir centered on the development of the cooperation between Icelandic and Indian companies on the harnessing of geothermal energy for electricity production in the region. While in New Delhi, India, Skarphédinsson made a formal request that India would continue to support Iceland’s economic recovery program within the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund. That meeting was conducted with S.M. Krishna, India’s Foreign Minister.
